Hermínio Amador dos Reis was born in 1928 on the Passos farm, which is located in the municipality of Rolante, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He was a descendant of one of the earliest Adventist families in Brazil, being the nephew of the first ordained Brazilian Adventist pastor, the honorable Pastor José Amador dos Reis.1 Hermínio graduated in Theology from the former Brazil Adventist College, now known as Brazil Adventist University, São Paulo campus, in 1951. He was a member of the 30th graduating class in Theology in Brazil.2

During his ministry, he served as both a colporteur and district pastor, and he held the position of department head for Education and Communication in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio Grande do Sul. Hermínio was married to Lourdes dos Reis. He passed away at the age of 92 in 2020.3 The Brazilian Adventist Review, in a note, stated that Pastor Hermínio was a widower at the time of his passing.4
