​The executive committee of West Indies Union Conference voted to divide two of its existing conferences, East and North Jamaica to form a new field, North East Jamaica. East Jamaica Conference yielded the parish of Portland, and North Jamaica Conference, the parish of Saint Mary. These two parishes formed the North East Jamaica field.
