Latin American Adventist Theological Seminary (Seminário Adventista Latino-Americano de Teologia, SALT) is a Seventh-day Adventist Church institution responsible for the theological education in the South American Division. SALT comprises eight regional campuses. One of them operates in the territory of the South Brazil Union Conference and is known as SALT-IAP because it is located at Parana Adventist College (Instituto Adventista Paranaense, IAP) in the countryside of the municipality of Ivatuba, Paraná, Brazil.
Augustus Baer Stauffer contributed to the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South America. He was part of the first group of canvassers sent by the church in that territory. His knowledge of German helped him establish Adventist work in German speaking communities in Brazil.
