Governed by Ukrainian Union Conference,1 the young and actively growing Adventist Medical Center “Angelia” (formerly Adventist Christian Medical Center) is located at 3, Larisa Rudenko Street, Kiev, Ukraine. The mission of this Medical Center is to promote the ministry of healing of Jesus Christ2 by providing professional medical care and health education. The medical center staff is guided by Christian standards of medical care and represents a part of the Global Mission which is to restore human wholeness by using evidence based medicine and natural healing techniques. This licensed medical facility works for all people regardless of their faith, social and gender status, and race.

Community Mental and Physical Health Care

The Adventist Medical Center “Angelia” is a limited-liability company. It was founded on October 14, 2014, and occupies a building with an area of 3,122 m2. Since the very beginning, the psychiatrist and narcologist Yu. A. Bondarenko has served as the head physician of this center. The first steps of the center were arrangement of premises in accordance with sanitary standards, creation of a small team of eight medical workers, selection of volunteers for the "Kiev City of Hope" program, and preparation and registration of a medical license.

In Ukraine the year 2014 was a tough time that challenged the development of professional medical ministry.

The ministry of the Adventist Medical Center “Angelia” started with educating the public in how to take care of human health and manage themselves. The center organized health programs, provided psychological counseling, and prepared for professional medical activities.

From 2014 to 2016, all the efforts of the center were aimed at helping refugees who, due to the war, had to move to safe cities in Ukraine. The center started projects jointly with ADRA Ukraine, ADRA Canada, and ADRA Germany so as to help Ukrainians survive difficult times. The center employees provided psychophysiological aid to internally displaced people, particularly women, children, the elderly, and the disabled. The mobile teams also traveled to the east of Ukraine to render onsite support. All this time the center built a team of medical professionals, while medical and hospital rooms were gradually organized and equipped.

The Center received a medical license on September 1, 2016, and at that time it already had 28 employees. The medical work was carried out in three licensed areas, and the patients were received at eight medical rooms.

On February 7, 2017, Pastor Ted Wilson and his spouse, accompanied by several employees of the GC Health Ministries, visited the Adventist Medical Center “Angelia.”

On November 8, 2017, a memorandum was signed with Adventist Health International (AHI),3 Loma Linda, California, U.S.A., and the center became part of the group of medical institutions associated with AHI. The center works closely with Loma Linda University Health4.

Since 2018 the center has partnered with and received support from AdventHealth, Florida, U.S.A., which operates 50 hospitals and 1,200 outpatient sites in the nine states of the U.S.A.

In 2018 the center incorporated the Creation Life--AdventHealth program (a special health recovery program).

The Adventist Medical Center “Angelia,” which takes a socially active position, has conducted 70 community programs to support various segments of the population.

Over the seven-year period of its existence, the center has rendered invaluable assistance to people from all walks of life and from a variety of religious backgrounds, both from Ukraine and other countries.

Present-Day Developments

Today, “Angelia” represents a state-of-the-art medical facility that is highly appreciated by patients (e.g., it is ranked 4.8 points in Google, on a five-point scale).

In 2021, the results that have been achieved by “Angelia” are as follows: 8 comfortable, modern stationary wards, 11 on-patient beds, 18 medical licenses, 20 areas of activity, 31 rooms compliant with the medical standards of Ukraine, 58 employees, hundreds of medical students attending online courses, and more than two thousand participants in the international medical conferences organized by “Angelia.” Over 45,000 patients from Ukraine and 22 countries (including the United States, Italy, Moldova, Russia, Germany, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Kenya, Norway, Poland, Georgia, Latvia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Belgium) have had the best care of the center.
